Two arrested after a man was stabbed to death outside the gym in Salford Retail Park

Two men were arrested outside a Salford gym after being stabbed with a knife.

Police were called to Regents Park on Ordsall Lane at around 7:10 p.m. Tuesday evening (June 8) for reports of a knife stab.

A 20-year-old man was admitted to hospital, where he remains seriously but not critically injured.

Research by detectives at CID Salford has revealed that the victim was involved in an argument with four men who got out of a black Seat Leon and then attacked him.

The vehicle was later traced to an address in Moss Side and confiscated.

Two men, aged 18 and 19, were later arrested and taken into custody for questioning on suspicion of Section 18 assault.

The investigation is still ongoing and investigators are calling on anyone in the area who may have information or dashcam footage from the time of the attack to come forward.

Detective Inspector Thomas Willis of the CID at GMP Salford in Swinton said, “Our officers worked through the evening and into the wee hours of the morning to get more information about this incident and we made two arrests.

“We are still doing extensive research and we continue to urge the public to contact us for any reports of what they saw last night as we know there were a lot of people in the area to have.

“If you have a dash cam, please check for footage showing the incident itself or showing a black Seat Leon with a 64 plate that may have been nearby at the time.”
