A PERSON has been pronounced dead on a railway line from Bolton to Salford Crescent.
A statement from the UK Transport Police said: “The UK Transport Police were launched today (Dec.
“Paramedics were also present and unfortunately one person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The officers are currently working to identify the deceased and inform the next of kin.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
Transport for Greater Manchester also previously issued a statement regarding the incident.
A statement on Twitter said: “Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident between Bolton and Salford Crescent, the line is closed in both directions.”
“Services between these stations will be canceled, delayed by up to 40 minutes or redirected.”
Commuters are advised to inquire before traveling and plan alternative routes should they require these services.
