The Class of 92-backed charity Foundation 92 has renewed its partnership with healthcare provider Bupa Foundation after a hugely successful first campaign in 2021.
The partnership, which sees an estimated 90 families supported by Bupa, aims to continue to support indoor learning, family relationship building and outdoor physical activities, with weekday evening sessions.
The partnership extension, which continues to roll out exclusively for Foundation 92, is based on a recent study that found 55.1% of young people were not physically active in 60 minutes in 2020 due to the effects of COVID-19.
Foundation 92 Director Tom Hutton said: “Due to the fantastic impact of the first 12 months of the partnership between Foundation 92 and the Bupa Foundation, we are delighted to be able to come together again for another 12 months to support local families over Greater Manchester.
“The range of activities and support provided by the partnership has been tremendous and we look forward to continuing to provide support through the program.”
Foundation 92 has renewed its partnership with the Bupa Foundation
Last year, Foundation 92 and Bupa Foundation delivered over 4,000 customized Essential Packs consisting of educational workbooks, family fun activities, food, toiletries and mental wellbeing support to local families in need, as well as over 2,500 Bupa Family Activity Packs, door to the front door in the community.
The program also established a dedicated family engagement group on Facebook with regular wellbeing tips and updates, currently accessed by over 180 families, with this group set to grow over the next 12 months.
Through the support of Bupa Foundation, Foundation was able to provide 92 support packs as well as online fitness videos that have received nearly 6,000 views with incredible feedback from all participants.
To date, 3,200 hours of physical activity have been provided by the Foundation 92 team, a total of 42 individual family members who have directly benefited from workshops related to this partnership. Each family provided at least 4 hours of contact time per week during a 6-week intervention, equating to over 480 hours of direct contact throughout the project.
Foundation 92 is focused on helping people improve their lives through exercise, with an emphasis on positive physical and mental well-being.
