One of the largest Free Pride events in the Greater Manchester area returns this summer with an action-packed day of fun to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
Salford Pride will return to Peel Park on August 7th with its annual Pink Picnic event featuring a variety of local and headline acts.
Manchester queens Cheddar Gorgeous, Blaq Ivory, Misty Chance and Viva La Diva will all perform alongside artists HUSK, Big Brovaz, Booty Luv and Stooshe during the free event.

Jess Kemp, House of Noir, Annabelle Lecter and Ewan Jobs, the reigning winner of Pride’s Got Talent, are also joining the artist line-up, with additional artists to be announced.
In addition to live music and drag talent, the event also features food and drink stalls and a dog show.
While Pink Picnic is free to attend, a ticket will be issued for this year’s event to ensure it is Covid-safe and complies with government guidelines.

The Pink Picnic started in 2011 after a group of friends decided to hold an LGBT + friendly event in Salford to bring people together.
The event has since grown into one of the largest Free Pride events in Greater Manchester and is held every year.
Last year’s event was finally canceled due to the pandemic.
Lee Bowditch, Chief Executive of Salford Pride, said, “The Pink Picnic was born from an idea somewhere between Darling Buds of May and the ending scene in Grease, but with a focus on uplifting, representing and raising all LGBT + people and our allies to celebrate .
“We are very excited to be back at Peel Park with The Pink Picnic in 2021 to offer a day when the community can come together after a really tough year.”
