The visitors’ boss Paul Hurst bemoaned a couple of big calls that turned the game. ‘Two big decisions went against us in that first half,’ he said.

Gillingham 0 Salford 3

Manager Neil Harris conceded Gillingham’s forward players are out of their depth in League Two.

‘We don’t score enough in training and that transforms into games,’ he said.

‘I can’t change personnel.’ Theo Vassell, Ryan Watson and Callum Hendry all scored for Salford in the second half.

Tranmere boss Micky Mellon was disappointed to come away from Sixfields with only a point against promotionchasing Northampton.

‘I always want us to be consistent and carry out what we want to do,’ he said. Charlie Kelman, Tom James and Ruel Sotiriou all scored to restore Orient’s five-point lead at the top.

Simon Weaver called his Harrogate players ‘immense’ as they thrashed Rochdale.

The home side took the lead through James Ball, before goals from George Thomson, Luke Armstrong (two) and Sam Folarin secured the win.
