Before April 9, those who performed rapid tests and returned a positive test result were considered positive, even if they had performed a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test that found negative.

As of Friday, those who receive a negative PCR test result within three days of a positive rapid test result will have their positive results deleted from the system.

This can cause the totals to decrease day by day in some cases.
