COLCHESTER United visit Salford City today as they begin life without boss Hayden Mullins.
Wayne Brown takes charge of the U’s for the first time after being named interim head coach.
Colchester are aiming for their first win in eight league games.

U’s team news
Colchester will welcome Shamal George back to the starting line-up today.
The former Liverpool goalkeeper has not played for U’s since suffering a rib injury in the Stevenage defeat last November.
He is set to replace Jake Turner, who has returned to parent club Newcastle United after completing his loan.
Colchester could make a debut for recent signing Myles Kenlock after the left-back was loaned from Ipswich Town on Thursday.
However, Ryan Clampin (knee) remains out.
Expected Lineups
Colchester United: George, Tchamadeu, Chambers, Smith, Kenlock, Skuse, Huws, Wiredu, Edwards, Andrews, Sears
Salford City: King, Vassell, Turnbull, Eastham, Kelly, Watson, Lowe, Love, Hunter, McAleny, Elliott
oppositional perspective
Salford defender Theo Vassell told the Salford website: “We cannot take for granted where we are in the table.
“We took points from the teams above us, they can look at us like that, so we have to treat every game the same way by doing things right, keep playing our football and hopefully that will bring the three points.
“We have a lot of games ahead of us, the next few weeks will be tough for all of us, but we believe if we can get points from these games we can put ourselves in a great position.”
last meeting
Colchester were beaten 2-0 at home by Salford when the two sides met in the Second Division last October.
Brandon Thomas-Asante put the Ammies ahead in the ninth minute and Tom Elliott doubled it 16 minutes later.
Thomas-Asante was sent off late for the visitors but Colchester was defeated.
opportunities
Colchester is viewed by some bookies as 15/4 to record its first win under Wayne Brown’s preliminary charge. Salford is 8/11, with the tie 5/2.
referee
Ollie Yates is the man in the middle today.
He has shown 55 yellow cards and two red cards so far this season.
