Rhinos Reserves return to action against Salford Red Devils Reserves tonight at Stanningley, kick off 7pm.

Mark Butterrill takes charge of the team for the game which comes at the midway point of the season, with the reserves on four wins. The Reserves will be aiming to bounce back from defeat in their last game when the Rhinos fought back from two early tries against Warrington to take the lead in the second half, just to lose out to a last minute try at Headingley.

Mackenzie Turner, who has been an ever present for the Reserves this season, will captain the side and is only one of five players in the side who featured in their last outing against Wolves alongside Cameron Berry, Mekhi Bridgeman-Reaney, Danny Salkeld and Nathan snow Bridgeman-Reaney, who scored four tries for the 18s in their last game against Wakefield to bring his season tally to ten tries, will be looking to add to his two tries he has already scored for the Reserves tonight.

Kyden Frater, Ashton Robinson, Jack Johnson and Blake Morgan, who have all in the Rhinos Academy, are set to make their first appearances for the Reserves tonight. Frater, who signed a contract with the Rhinos this year, has scored two tries in four appearances for the 18s this year. Robinson has featured five times for the 18s and Johnson and Morgan have both been regulars in Chev Walker’s U18s – Robinson not missing a game this season.

Bayley Gill and Ben Mathiou, who have been brought in from Featherstone Rovers, will make their first appearances for Leeds. Mathiou is the son of former Leeds player and Challenge Cup winner Jamie Mathiou. Hunslet players Kiedan Hartley, David Gibbons, Charley Bodman, Cameron Berry and Jacob Beer have also been named in the side. This will be Gibbons’ first appearance for the Rhinos.
